Most traffic courts in Ontario "stack" their tickets so when you show up on your scheduled court date, there are also 20 or more other people who were also scheduled for the same time! They do not schedule enough time for every person to have a trial so they are willing to make deals. They do this because of the back log in the traffic court system and this is why it pays to have a little knowledge of the court system in order to make a better deal for yourself.
